AFIA has since 2016 given the opportunity to Sweden to celebrate South African Culture. Afia Weekend Special is a new concept and its created to be able to expand our work and not only give you Afia Festival once a year but to be able to offer some special weekends here and there! ❤️
This Weekend special is hosted in MALMÖ, Sweden in July! It gives show, workshops, panel talks and a dance jam. During our open jam we will have a battle preselection, and yes you are reading this right, NO battle but only the preselection. If you pass the preselection you will battle on the 15th of August at Malmöfestivalens stage for dance "Fontänen". There you will meet some of our invited battle guest in a fun conceptual battle starting the Quarterfinals with 1vs1 and ending with a 3vs3 battle in the final. *See more about rules in the Saturday discription.

IsiPantsula Pantsula originates from the townships of South Africa. What makes this dance style unique is the merging of the day to day lifestyle and traditional dances from different tribes from South Africa. Pantsula is recognized by its energetic, synchronized movement and intricate footwork. Expect good vibes, foundations, technique, choreography and a lot of different rhythms!
Amapiano Amapiano is an indigenous genre of music and dance style in South Africa. The dance is fun and all-inclusive in its simplicity yet has intricacies and techniques that give anyone a cutting edge as it increases in difficulty of execution. Amapiano has been around since 2012, but gained its commercial appeal and rise from 2018. Seen and celebrated all over social media through millions of dance challenge videos, Amapiano is the leading dance style of South Africa.
Beginner - Come as you are. No prior experience needed!
Open level - The dance teachers will cater for the participants and choosing a level suitable for everyones need as much as they can.
Intermediate - Dont be afraid of this word! This level is here to challenge you in a fun way while still teaching you the foundations of the dance-style. Some dance experience is recommended (however not in the speicific styles, just in general!)
